Red Roots is a Christian bluegrass trio made up of red-haired religious Taylor triplets, Nika on lead vocals and guitar, Natalie on high harmonies, violin, mandolin and keys and Nicole on low harmonies, banjo, guitar and bass. Born in 1991, the girls first began playing rock, but incorporated bluegrass influences in their music at 13. After winning a talent contest, producer Rick Schweinsberg developed Red Roots sound and image, working on their 2011 self-titled debut album, with his son Micah Schweinsberg and Tyrone Dickerson. The album’s first radio single, Ben Isaacs-produced song, "Red Roots," hit thirty-two on the Singing News Southern Gospel chart, and second single, "Lord I'm Listening", reached number seven on the Singing News Bluegrass chart. Their sophomore album, "Middle of Nowhere" (2012), includes singles, "Sweet" and "Middle of Nowhere," co-written by the group. The trio was fan-nominated for Horizon Group of the Year awards in 2011 and 2012.
