Kassini and Ragers at Grog and Tankard

2 of the hottest bands around converge on the Grog and Tankard for what is sure to be a legendary concert.

Kassini is an original music production and songwriting collective founded by NYC-based composer and producer Shane Koss and London-based musician/ singer/songwriter John Hogg (Moke, The Black Crowes, Hookah Brown). Musical worlds collide yet combine in this creative dynamic; Shane is a classically trained, orchestral score composer, while John is a psychedelic blues-rock singer and guitarist; the result is a best-of-both-worlds synthesis of ambient electronic production with live instrumentation. Their mix of pure rock riffs, moody sound design-heavy textures, organic and electronic melodies and driving rhythms supporting John's unique world class voice that results in an all new experience that openly and deliberately nods to the influences of decades past.

Ragers, formed last year out of the ashes of the heavily hyped This is a Shakedown, Ragers sound pretty fired up on their new EP Amnesia, which kicks off with the howling vocals of “Blood on the Dance Floor,” a stop-and-go anthem that has elements of Marilyn Manson and Buck Cherry.

Guitarist Brandon Zano has a distinctive voice and the shimmering pop of “Glitter Girl,” and the gritty title track show off the band’s musical range. This CD release concert doubles as a Halloween party, so the guys will give out prizes for the best costume. (Jeff Niesel)
